Caroni Swamp


This afternoon, we went to Caroni Swamp where we could observe Trinidad's national bird : the SCARLET IBIS, which are supposed to look like that :

But we only saw them from afar from our little boat, they looked like flowers:

(On était bien plus nombreux que ça dans le bateau)

And contrary to what the picture shows, it was on a rainy day, so, it was quite complicated. Thankfully, the guide had prepared a tarpaulin so we could cover ourselves with it.
We saw a curled up boa constrictor and a baby caiman which made most of us scream out in fear.
When we returned ashore, it was already dark out since the Sun goes down faster in Trinidad.

We go to Port Of Spain, and the driver presents us the different historical buildings : at the first place we saw the building where the queen lived and then he let us know the famous story of her wedding and the gift refused by the queen.

And a lot of other buildings were there :

To close the ride we ended in the museum, and saw:

•      famous people portraits:( Simon Bolivar , M.Gandhi, Napoleon the 1st…)

•      Historical weapons, items that you can use to cook, eat, paddle, middle boats (for crossing over)

•      seat animals:crocodiles, snacks, turtles, the felines, the birds and others that I have forgotten !

•      And sculptures.

In fact all was beautiful, the guide was very glad to see us and wished that she could meet us soon.
